The first project APF completed was building a road in Fondwa. The road is very important to the community because building it catalyzed infrastructure development within Fondwa and connected the village to the neighboring communities. However, the road has been severely damaged because of natural disasters that hit Haiti time and time again. The earthquake in 2010 destroyed a portion of the road, and the community has had to take responsibility for these repairs themselves. The community havs begun the long journey of post-earthquake recovery, and to facilitate the reconstruction process, the road to Fondwa must be repaired and completed.
