POST-CONGRESS ACTIVITIES

Since the Post-Congress Office was set up on June 7th, 2008, we achieved many projects, such as: Contacting the Associations of the Peasants which were absents at the Congress, and other important personalities who support the fight for freedom of the Haitian Peasants.

We went on the following radio and TV Stations to elucidate the role and importance of the Ministry of Peasants Affaires:
Vision 2000, Quisqueya F.M, Caraïbes F.M, Galaxie, Nationale, Signal F.M, Radio Kòn lanbi (Port-de-Paix), Radio Paradis and Radio voix Ave Maria (Cap-Haïtien), Télémax.

We have contacted the Departmental Delegates to have a report on what they did after the Congress, and to invite them to a meeting on June 15, 2008.

The meeting was a success, and we appreciated the work that the Departmental Delegates have done to inform the people living in Rural Haiti of their rights and the wrestle they must lead to force the Haitian Government to provide the public services to them. They went on radios to present the Ministry of the Peasants Affaires; they gathered together groups of Peasants Association to explain to them the reason why they need a Ministry of the Peasants Affaires, they even talked at length on boats about the rights of the Peasants and the creation of the Ministry of the Peasants Affaires.

We have also contacted the Parliament Members, Haitian Representatives, Prime Minister, the Associations of Mayors of each Department, and other Organization to ask them to support the Declaration made by the Participants of the Peasants National Congress.

Now we are working on the Project to set up a national platform with the Peasants Associations, the Offices of FONKOZE, the Associations of Mayors of each Department, the non-governmental organizations working in the Peasants Sector and all other people who are supporting the Peasants fight for freedom.

We want through our program, to encourage the Peasants to contribute to the development of their community, and implement each one of the Communal Section, of sustainable development projects in order to keep the youngsters in their community.

We are doing an important work in Haiti. We invite you to come join us in the fight to alleviate the condition of living of people of Rural Haiti.
