The Mission of APF
The Mission of APF is to empower the peasants so that they can help themselves while they are developing their community.
Our Vision is:
To accompany the peasants in helping them to identify their problems and to set up their own priorities
To keep organizing themselves in small working groups and participate as much as they can in order to get access to some basic infrastructures in their community such as roads, water, health car, education and technical assistance in agriculture and animal husbandry.
To help the peasants increasing their production and their income at the same time
To help them sharing their resources with the other rural communities through the University of Fondwa.
Actually, APF ( the Association of the Peasants Of Fondwa) is a grassroots association and a national NGO in Haiti which works primarily with the people of Fondwa and secondly, with the other 564 rural communities of Haiti through the University of Fondwa by providing access to higher education to young Haitians as rural community leaders so that they can go back home and work in sustainable development of their home communities by using the Fondwa community as their model. The University will help APF to share its resources with the other communities and strengthen itself by exchanging services with them.
APF is also an institution formed by various people from different places in Haiti and with many other people from abroad to help the people of Fondwa and its neighbourgs to improve their living conditions and to develop their communites. APF is a people’s empowerment organization where the people are trained to survive and to help themselves by identifying their problems, to set up a structure that they can rely to and that can last, to set up their priorities and to always start working with what they have.
