Structure and Governance

APF is governed by a secretariate which has two branches: an executive branch and a technical team which work as a whole body to provide assistance to the Peasants of  Fondwa. We call it also the coordination service of APF. The executive branch is based in Port-au-Prince and the Technical team is based in Fondwa. Members from those two branches form together the direction of APF. In this, we have the coordinator, the director of the APF secretariat, the assistant director, the accountant, the liaison agent between Fondwa and Port au Prince (who also works as director of programs), the administrator and the international liaison.  They  are assisted by an advisory board and a general consultative assembly.

The APF Technical Team is formed with Specialized Technicians working with the small peasants working groups in Fondwa and with different activities of APF. We can name the Animators, the international volunteers, the Sisters, the directors of  the APF small businesses, the Rector of the University of Fondwa and the directors of  APF projects.

The goal of the team is to reinforce the work of APF and to serve as a bridge between the different peasants groups in Fondwa and in other places and the Secretariat of the APF Eventually students of the University of Fondwa who are from the Fondwa area will integrate the Technical team of APF.

The Advisory Board and its role

This board is made up of  the members of  APF Direction plus  a representative of the Sisters of Fondwa, a representative of the Rectorate of the University, and a representative of the peasant small working groups. This board meets once a month in Fondwa. Its role is to advise the APF secretariat and it’s works, to evaluate the works that have been done and to do strategy planning for the organization.

Consultative General Assembly and its role

This assembly is made up of all of the people who are in charge in one or different activities of APF.  That means all of the members of the technical team including all the animators, all of those who are in charge of the business activities of APF, the council members of the Sisters Community of Fondwa, a member of the orphanage, a members of the clinic, a member of the guest house center, all of the members of the Rectorate of the University, and three members of the committee directors of the peasant small working groups, two members of each women’s groups, and two members of each youth group.   The role of this assembly is to share information about the different activities of APF, to evaluate the activities of APF, and to make recommendations to the executive secretariat.
